Iceland Travel Notes

Myself and two other friends decided to do a photography tour of Iceland. The inspiration for doing this came after seeing the locales where a Indian movie was shot. Exotic landscapes was the primary focus.

Our contacts in the Indian film industry led us to the Tour Agent who had access to A Driver cum Photographer and another Driver cum Locale spotter for the movies. We thus used TRIPICAL Travel company based in Rejkjavik. Their coordinates are as below :

TRIPICAL TRAVEL – SUDURLANDSBRAUT 4A- 108 REJKJAVIK

We travelled a distance of over 3000 kms over the ten day trip in June and were taken to locations from where we could see the natural landscape and capture beautiful photographs.

Our iternery included visits to

Hallgrimms Church and see the beautiful city views from the topmost level , The Harpa Concert Hall, Famous warm Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle , Gullfoss Waterfalls, Geysir thermal area,THINGVELLIR National Park, SELJALANDSFOS Waterfalls, Skogafoss Waterfalls, Skogar Folk Museum, Cliffs of Dryholaey, Reynisdrangar Basalt Coumns, The Black Sand Beaches, Lakakigar Craters, Landmannalaugar, Fjaaorarglijufur Canyon, Dverghamrar Cliffs, Fjallback Mountain Road, Ofaenifoss Waterfalls, Skaftafell , Vatnajokull National Park, Svartifoss Waterfall, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The shallow lake near Hofn, Lake Myvatn, Skutustaoagigar Pseudo Craters, Asbyrgi Canyon, Dettifoss, Hvitserkur, Sanefellsjokull Glacier, Village of Hellinar and Buoir, Drive through West Iceland, Hraunfossar and Barnafoss Waterfalls and Fossatin Waterfalls.

Iceland Tourism has been a recent story and hotels in. the remote areas are few. The accommodation is very basic and it is desirable to travel “light”.

The company of the two guides made our trip very enjoyable and they took us to the right places for photography.
